YouCanMakeThis.com was started by Kim Christopherson, a former 4th grade elementary school teacher, turned “stay-at-home mom” when she decided that it would be nice to create a place where women could learn how to make items for their homes and families. What makes this site even more unique is the idea that these eBooks and patterns are written by “every day” women who have an “expertise” in an area. The site launched with under 20 eBooks and within a year has grown to nearly 500 eBook products.

Now in its second year, the site has created another avenue for learning — YCMT-TV. “You Can Make This Television” is a web-based program that will demonstrate techniques, tips, ideas, and tricks for learning something new. It is a free product that can be viewed at any time.
