YouCanMakeThis.com was started by Kim Christopherson, a former 4th grade elementary school teacher, turned “stay-at-home mom” when she decided that it would be nice to create a place where women could learn how to make items for their homes and families. What makes this site even more unique is the idea that these eBooks and patterns are written by “every day” women who have an “expertise” in an area. The site launched with under 20 eBooks and within a year has grown to nearly 500 eBook products.

I came across the site of Katie James while looking for a cute new jewlery bag, well I did find what I was looking for along with a few more lovely items.
My favorites however are the sunset pink checkbook cover (left), and the sunset pink jewelry bag (right). Both constructed for function while being decadent in silk! Both the jewelry bag and checkbook cover are made with 100% raw silk dupioni and lined in a very soft and polka dot cotton pique.
